Connect the islands with bridges so each has its number.
Play Bridges

The goal

Join the numbered islands with bridges so each island has exactly its number of bridges, and every island is linked into one connected group.

The rules

  • Bridges run straight across or straight down, from one island to the next one along.
  • Two islands can share one bridge or two, never more.
  • Bridges can’t cross each other or pass over an island.
  • When you’re done, you must be able to walk from any island to any other over the bridges.

Building

  • Drag from an island toward its neighbor to add a bridge. Drag again for a second one, and once more to take them away.
  • Or tap the gap between two islands to do the same, or tap one island and then its neighbor.
  • Undo takes back your last change.

Checking your work

  • An island turns green when it has exactly its number of bridges, and red when it has too many.
  • The puzzle is solved when every island is green and they all connect.

Tips

  • An island with only one neighbor must send all its bridges to it.
  • A 4 with two neighbors, a 6 with three or an 8 with four needs double bridges on every side.
  • Two 1s can’t join each other, and two 2s can’t share a double bridge: that pair would be cut off from everything else.

Difficulty

  • Easy: a 7×7 grid with 12 islands. Normal: 9×9 with 20. Hard: 11×11 with 30.
  • Every puzzle is new and has exactly one solution. Your best times are kept for each difficulty.

Keyboard

  • Arrow keys move between islands, Shift+arrow builds a bridge that way, Escape deselects, and Ctrl or ⌘+Z undoes.
