Golf is a quick, thoughtful solitaire. Seven columns of five cards sit face up on the table, and your job is to clear all 35 of them onto a single waste pile, one rank up or down at a time.
The layout
A single deck is dealt into seven columns of five face-up cards. One more card starts the waste pile, and the remaining 16 cards form the stock.
Only the bottom card of each column is in play. Clearing it uncovers the card above.
Playing cards
Tap the bottom card of a column, or drag it onto the waste, when it is one rank higher or lower than the waste’s top card.
Suits don’t matter: a 7 goes on any 6 or 8.
You can go up and down in the same run, for example 5, 6, 5, 4, 3.
When nothing fits, tap the stock to turn a new card onto the waste. The stock is never reshuffled.
Classic and Wrap modes
Classic: no wrapping. Nothing can be played on a King, so a King on the waste ends your run until you draw.
Wrap: Kings and Aces connect, so an Ace can go on a King and a King on an Ace. Games are easier to win.
Pick a mode under New game. Best times and wins are kept separately for each mode.
Winning and losing
Clear all 35 table cards to win; your time and number of moves are recorded. If the stock runs out and no column card can be played, the game is over, but you can undo and try a different path.
Strategy tips
Look ahead before playing: choose the card that lets you keep the run going longest, not just the first card that fits.
Save stock cards. With only 16 draws, every card you play from the table is a draw you keep.
Work on columns with Kings near the bottom early in Classic, since a King can only follow a Queen.
Use Hint to see every playable card, and Undo to test a line of play.
