How to play Yukon

The goal

The layout

• The whole deck is dealt to seven columns. There is no stock to draw from.
• The first column has one card. Each of the others has some face-down cards under five face-up ones.
• The four outlined spots marked “A” are the foundations. Each starts with an Ace and builds up by suit.

Moving cards

• In the columns, build down in alternating colors: a red 6 can go on a black 7.
• You can pick up any face-up card together with everything on top of it, even if those cards are out of order. Only the card you pick up has to fit where it lands.
• Only a King (with whatever is on it) can go into an empty column.
• When you uncover a face-down card, it turns face up.

Modes

• Classic: build down in alternating colors.
• Russian: the same deal, but build down in the same suit, so a 6♥ only goes on a 7♥. Much harder.
• Choose a mode from New game. Your records are kept separately for each.

Controls

• Drag a card to move it along with everything on top of it.
• Double-tap a card to send it to the best spot, with foundations first.
• Undo takes back your last move. Once every card is face up and each column runs in order, the game finishes itself.

Tips

• Turning over face-down cards matters most, so dig into the deepest columns first.
• Because you can move unordered groups, it often pays to move a big stack just to reach the card under it.
