Play Spider

The goal

Build eight full runs from King down to Ace, each in a single suit. A finished run clears off the table by itself.

The layout

  • Two decks (104 cards) are dealt into ten columns. Only the top card of each column is face up.
  • The stock (top right) holds five more deals of ten cards. Finished runs collect at the top left.

Moving cards

  • Any card can go on a card one rank higher, whatever its suit: a 6 on any 7.
  • You can only pick up several cards together if they run down in order and are all the same suit.
  • Any card or run can go into an empty column.
  • When you uncover a face-down card, it turns face up.

Dealing

  • Tap the stock to deal one card onto every column.
  • You can’t deal while any column is empty. Fill it first.

Difficulty

  • 1 suit (all spades) is the easiest. Each extra suit makes it harder: 2 suits, 3 suits (spades, hearts and diamonds), then all 4.
  • Choose from New game. Your choice is remembered, and your records are kept separately for each number of suits.

Controls

  • Drag a card or run to move it.
  • Double-tap a card to move it to the best spot, preferring a card of the same suit.
  • Undo takes back moves, deals and clears.

Scoring

  • You start with 500. Every move and every deal costs 1 point.
  • Each finished King-to-Ace run earns 100.
