A quick 6×6 Sudoku for a short break.
Play Mini Sudoku

The goal

Fill the 6×6 grid so every row, every column and every 3×2 box contains the numbers 1 to 6 exactly once.

Playing

  • Tap an empty cell, then tap a number to place it. Tapping the same number again clears the cell.
  • The dark numbers are the puzzle’s clues and can’t be changed.
  • The grid has six boxes, each three cells wide and two tall, outlined by thick lines.
  • The selected cell’s row, column and box are shaded, and matching numbers are highlighted.

Tools

  • Notes: turn it on to pencil in possible numbers instead of placing them.
  • Erase clears the selected cell. Undo takes back your last change.
  • Hint fills in the selected cell, or the next cell that needs one.
  • A number that repeats in a row, column or box turns red, along with the number it clashes with.

Difficulty

  • Easy: half the grid is filled in, and every step is a cell with only one possible number.
  • Normal: fewer clues. Sometimes a number fits only one cell in its row, column or box.
  • Hard: as few clues as the puzzle allows.
  • Every puzzle is new and has exactly one solution. Best times are kept for each difficulty.

Keyboard

  • 1–6 to place a number, the arrow keys to move, Backspace to erase, N for notes, H for a hint, and Ctrl or ⌘+Z to undo.
