Marble Maze is a wooden tilt maze. Tilt the board, roll the steel marble around the walls and past the holes, and drop it into the glowing goal as fast as you can. There are 24 hand-made levels, from a gentle warm-up to a tricky final exam.
The goal
Each level starts with the marble on its start spot. Tilt the board to roll it to the glowing goal hole. The clock starts with your first tilt and stops when the marble drops into the goal.
Clearing a level unlocks the next one, and your best time on each level is saved.
Controls
Drag anywhere on the board to tilt it. The farther you drag from where your finger went down, the steeper the tilt.
Let go and the board eases back to level, but the marble keeps rolling until friction slows it down.
On a computer, drag with the mouse or use the arrow keys or W, A, S, D. P or Escape pauses.
Holes, falls and checkpoints
The marble falls into a hole only when its middle rolls over it, so you can skim past the edge.
A fall sends the marble back to the start and adds 5 seconds to your time. There are no lives, so you can always keep going.
Some levels have a green checkpoint ring. Roll over it and any later fall brings you back there instead of the start.
Levels and scoring
There are 24 levels: open rooms with scattered holes, narrow ledges and tightropes between rows of holes, slaloms, wall mazes, spirals and longer tours with checkpoints. Use the Levels button to replay any level you have reached and chase a better time.
Each cleared level scores 100 times its level number, plus a point for every tenth of a second you finish under the level’s par time. If you leave mid-level, you pick up later from your last checkpoint with your time so far.
Tips for faster times
Small tilts give you control. Drag a little to steer and save full tilts for long straight runs.
Ease off before a corner: the marble keeps its speed, and bouncing off walls wastes time.
Near holes, keep the marble moving along a line between them rather than over them. A fall costs far more time than going slowly.
Bounce gently off walls to line up for narrow gaps.
